Descripción

The workshop is intended to provide graduate and undergraduate students the theoretical background and complementary practical demonstrations in the uses of different kinds of detectors and technologies outside Particle Physics. These applications span research in Medicine, Muography and Engineering.

This workshop will be held in person and will run for three days, with lectures in the morning and interactive laboratory demonstrations in the afternoon. There will be a daily session for short presentations, either in English or Spanish (10 to 15 minutes) of selected contributions. Application for admission is charge free. Most of the lectures will be delivered in Spanish (slides in English) with some few exceptions.

Opening Day for applications: TBD
Deadline for applications: TBD

Goals of the Workshop on particle detectors for interdisciplinary applications

  • To introduce Colombian students to the area of radiation detectors and their applications.
  • To stimulate the development of experimental particle physics in Colombia.
  • To promote multidisciplinary applications of particle detectors.
  • To motivate students to work in particle detector research.
