The Schwinger-Dyson equations (DSE) were obtained from a functional generation of masses M(p) for a fermion propagator, which are analogous to the Euler-Lagrange equations in quantum field theory (QFT), because these correspond to the equations of motion of Green's functions. The DSE's solve them by means of a truncation scheme. In order to solve abelian models for quantum chromodynamics (QCD) at low energies, which allow us to obtain the mass spectrum for pseudoscalar mesons (Jp=0−) and the decay constants.
