The 5th Workshop on Statistical Physics will be held in Bogotá, the capital city of Colombia (UTC/GMT -5 hours). The event will take place at two prestigious institutions: Universidad Nacional de Colombia (UNAL) from Monday to Wednesday and Universidad de los Andes (UNIANDES) on Thrusday and Friday.

Getting to Bogota:

To reach Bogota, you can travel by plane or bus. The El Dorado International Airport is approximately a 30-minute taxi ride from downtown, while the transportation terminal is around 20 minutes away from the city center.

Getting to the Universities:

Transportation options to reach Universidad Nacional and Universidad de los Andes include taxis, Uber, Cabify and other transport apps, public buses, and the Transmilenio, an efficient transport system that bypasses city traffic. Additionally, Bogotá offers Latin America's largest network of bicycle routes, making cycling a viable transportation choice.

On-Site Venues:

The first three days of the event, from Monday, April 13th, to Wednesday, April 15th, will take place at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia, Faculty of Sciences, Auditorium A1 of the “Aulas de Ciencias Gloria Galeano Garcés” building 564.

The following two days of the event, Thursday, April 16th, and Friday, April 17th, will take place at Universidad de los Andes, Mario Laserna Building, 5th floor, classroom ML-513.

Online Venue:

The workshop courses and conferences will also be transmitted online. Please register (free) to the event if you wish to access the online talks. Registered participant will receive a link to access the online talks. 

Power Sockets and Plugs:

In Colombia, the standard voltage is 110V with a frequency of 60Hz, and the standard power sockets are type A and type B. We highly recommend bringing a universal adapter and ensuring that your electronic devices support 110V.

Visas:

For stays under 90 days, there are no visa restrictions for traveling to Colombia if you are from one of the countries listed in https://www.cancilleria.gov.co/tramites_servicios/visa/requisitos. However, if you are not a Colombian resident, you will need to obtain the entry and stay permit (PID) issued by the Special Administrative Unit Migration Colombia on your arrival. Please ensure that the immigration official stamps your passport with the PID permit, as shown in the image below. You will need to present your passport with this permit during event registration.
