Descripción

The workshop is intended to showcase the application of different detector technologies and experimental techniques beyond fundamental particle physics research. These applications extend across fields such as Medicine, Geology and Engineering.

This workshop will be held in person over three days. For the first two days, invited and local speakers will deliver one-hour lectures in the morning and afternoon. The final session will feature an interactive, hands-on module on detector simulation and machine learning. On the last day there will be short presentations (20 to 30 minutes) of selected contributions, delivered in either English or Spanish.

The official Workshop languages are Spanish and English.

Application for admission is free of charge.

Opening Day for applications: August 5 / 2024
Deadline for applications: September 15 / 2024

Goals of the Workshop on particle detectors for interdisciplinary applications

  • To introduce Colombian students to the area of radiation detectors and their applications.
  • To stimulate the development of experimental particle physics in Colombia.
  • To promote multidisciplinary applications of particle detectors.
  • To motivate students to work in particle detector research.
